Cape Town

Abbey Manor

This is a great location for Cape Town virgins. A B&B in Oranjezicht. It’s safe and easy to get to the centre and the Waterfront.  Bit of a walk but only a short drive. You can park your car on the road outside the hotel. It’s an elegant place that still feels like a home. Ornate ceilings, chandeliers, fireplaces, and plump home furnishings. Think wealthy family home. With neat gardens back and front.

9 luxury and grand rooms - all decorated in different ways. They have large windows, free standing baths and antique decor.

Some of the rooms have balconies, some have patios. Some are detached from the main house. There’s the choice of twin or double beds and views of the city and mountains are available from most rooms.

All the rooms have original elements with a contemporary vibe thrown in.

This is a house and there are steps, no lift. There’s a room on the third floor - worth the climb once you look out of the window. And it leads to Abbey Manor’s roof top deck which is embarrassingly close to Table Mountain. You won’t miss it. Unless there’s a cloud on your head.

Large solar heated swimming pool; Roof top deck; A/C; WiFi; Lounge areas; Library; Garden; Satellite TV in room; Telephone in room; Mini bar in room; Tea/coffee facilities in room

Well, you’re in Cape Town so there’s a lot on. Table Mountain is less than a mile away (told you it was close), the V&A waterfront is less than 3 miles away. Restaurants, theatres, shops. Or just relax and read one of Herman Bosman’s books - he’s cited as South Africa’s greatest short story writer and was born near Cape Town in the early 1900s, in fact, the same year Abbey Manor was brought to life.

Similar Properties in Cape Town

Floreal House

A white house, alive with light at night. Floreal House with wooden framed windows overlooking the city, harbour and Table Bay. An half hour walk from the city centre in the quiet Oranjezicht area. If you can’t face that (and it is an uphill stroll), just jump in a taxi.

Grand Daddy Hotel

This place is all about the base. And Daddy’s home. He’s put his roots firmly down. It’s been operating as a boutique hotel for over 120 years. Bang in Cape Town’s city centre. They like their outdoor rooftop. High in the sky there’s a cinema, bar and wait for it... the world’s only rooftop trailer park. A trailer park? Yup. Seven authentic Airstream trailers. For you to stay in. Kitsch and quirky.

The Hyde Hotel

Current. Contemporary. Chic. Just a few words that spring to mind, but even the way the hotels’ name is written boasts its cosmopolitan and modern integrity. A style unto itself.
