Malansrus Tented Camp

Malansrus Tented Camp is a classic safari style camp of muted neutrals and a palette that reflects the surrounds. Crisp and clean with an airy feel and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Spacious yet intimate. Simple yet elegant. Private and remote.

One of the newest additions to lodging in the area, Malansrus opened in May 2018. A welcome addition to an area that is otherwise limited for options – and this is a good one.

Situated along a bank of the ephemeral Aba Huab River, under shaded Mopane trees, this camp, looking almost mobile, is a permanent tented camp that looks out over the indigenous granite mountains of the area.

A "green" camp in a natural setting, true to itself and true to nature. A chance to relax and find yourself lost in the wilderness without feeling completely deserted. Although looking around, there’s not much else out there but open spaces and pure Damaraland landscape.

Nine spacious and large tents are set apart for privacy. There are no fans and no air-conditioning so it can be warm, or should we rather say hot, but with gauze windows all around - roll up the sides and enjoy a breeze and that with a view of the surrounds.

9 twin en-suite tents with shower, wash basins and separate toilet; patio; safe; drinking water; mess tent with lounge; bar; dining area; WiFi in the main area; fire pit; nearby waterhole; shaded secure parking

A swimming pool and deck are planned. Coming soon.

Situated roughly 30 minutes away from the main highlights of Twyfelfontein, you can easily venture off to explore the area on your own and possible come across some wildlife too. Adventure.

Not far from Twyfelfontein you can also stop in at the Damara Living Museum. A glimpse into the lives of the locals and how they have always lived.

If you prefer you can join a guided excursion to Twyfelfontein instead. Enjoy a half day nature drive to search for the desert adapted elephants or combine this with the highlights of Twyfelfontein for a full-day excursion to fit it all in.
