We can all come out of mourning now. As of August 2015, Hobatere Lodge is back in business after a fire-induced hiatus. Though some might bemoan the loss of Steve and Louise, this community-run lodge is in excellent hands and the wildlife, service, food and all-round wilderness experience are still top-notch.

Okutala Etosha Lodge
This is what you’d call a lodge with a view - bang in front of a waterhole. Granted, not the biggest pond, but perfect if you want to get intimate, share a bottle of wine and watch rhinos and giraffes slurping away as you do. They look after orphaned giraffes here too so be prepared for long necked visitors to wander over. Heaven for the kids.

Etosha Safari Camp
If you're looking for an alternative to the Okaukuejo Resort inside Etosha National Park, then Etosha Safari Camp may well be for you. Close your eyes and picture grassland, makalani palm trees and acacia thickets.
