Holiday Inn Johannesburg Airport

If you want a Holiday Inn near the airport, this is that. OR Tambo International Airport is 10 minutes away.

Plane spotters will be chuffed. Really chuffed. They fly pretty low over the car park and if you lie back in the outdoor pool you may as well ask a flight attendant for a Bloody Mary.

The rooms aren’t huge but they’ve upped the glazing of the windows so airport noise is minimal. 151 rooms on three floors. They all have en-suites with a bath and separate shower, hairdryers, 32" flat screens with DStv, direct dialling telephones, digital safes, coffee/tea making facilities, complimentary wireless internet access, irons, ironing boards and bottled water.

If you want a coffee they do a good espresso in the hotel bar.

Kids ages 12 and under stay free of charge when sharing their parents’ room. Also, up to four kids ages 12 and under may eat free of charge any time of the day in any Holiday Inn on-site restaurant.

So. You could eat at the hotel or cross the road where you’ll find a selection of restaurants in two shopping areas. At Emperors Palace Casino you can also go to the cinema.

The complimentary airport shuttle service runs every 30 minutes during peak times and every hour off peak till 11pm.
The shuttles start at 6am so if you need to go earlier you’ll have to arrange an uber or taxi.
