Chiawa Camp was one of the first safari lodges to set up camp in the once-lawless-now-thriving Lower Zambezi National Park. Today, the family-run camp retains its pioneering African safari ethos with a charming old-world safari tent accommodation beneath massive thatched gazebos.
Chiawa Camp has six large double suites, two super-sized suites and a palatial honeymoon suite. All have private game viewing balconies beneath a beautiful fringe of mahogany trees on the edge of the Zambezi River. Bathrooms conform to the traditional open-air theme and have twin vanities, two showers, delightful slipper baths and Molton Brown toiletries on tap.
The living area features swimming pool, a covered lounge and (rarely used) dining area, an elevated game viewing platform and bright and cheery campfire around which you usually start and end your day.
Fully inclusive accommodation; six double tented suites; two superior suites; one honeymoon suite; en suite bathrooms with twin showers and roll-top slipper baths; swimming pool; game viewing platform; lounge, bar and dining area; campfire; open April To November
Canoe and motor boat safaris; river cruises; game drives, night drives and walking safaris; fishing; birding
And your days are packed with excellent game viewing. Activities include boating safaris, gentle river cruises on pontoon boats, canoeing safaris, walking safaris, day and night game drives. Guided fishing trips and excellent birding offer a specialist diversion to the fantastic big game wildlife and Zambezi Valley wilderness experience.

Chongwe River Camp
In the Lower Zambezi National Park, for reasons of survival, things need to blend in to the landscape. Chongwe River Camp is no exception.
A victim of its own prime location at the confluence of the Kafue and Zambezi Rivers, Kanyemba Island was rescued from the brink of extinction by Italian and Zambian lessees who have built an exclusive lodge on the river's edge facing the island.
Sausage Tree Camp
With huge white draped marquees beneath the sausage and mahogany trees along the Zambezi River, Sausage Tree Camp looks more like a delicious wedding venue than a luxury safari lodge in the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia.
