Agama Tented Camp

Agama is a bush camp in the mountains on a 8000 hectare farm. 20km north of Garies, in the heart of the floral kingdom. It’s incredible really. Namaqualand is a drought ravished wilderness. Yet, suddenly, Mother Nature empties her bath water and the land responds with joy.

5 twin bedded tents, 2 with king sized beds. Agama can accommodate 14 people. Rustic, private with en suites - hot shower, basin, flush toilet.

It’s down a 10km dirt road, a normal sedan car can cope. There’s no parking at the tents but staff will carry your luggage. It’s a 50-100m walk.

Tents are serviced daily.

No children under 12.

Facilities

Breakfast and dinner included; No self catering facilities; Free WiFi in dining area; Gas heaters in all tents; Swimming pool; Fireplace and ladies bar; No cell phone reception; No electricity - batteries can be recharged in main area with solar power

Activities

The wild flower routes are within an hours drive. There are flower maps available at reception.

Or drive to the top of the mountain to see oryx and wild flowers when they’re in season. Lots of hiking opportunities and good for mountain biking.

Hang out with the resident meerkat. Gomgat’s the name of the dude.
