Nsefu Camp

The circular chalets at Nsefu Camp create a wrap-around panorama of a bend in the Luangwa River in the remote and undeveloped Nsefu region of the South Luangwa National Park in eastern Zambia.

Nsefu Camp is a small, intimate and casual safari lodge inside the South Luangwa National Park. With just six chalets, the camp is renowned for personal service and excellent guided safaris on land, on water and on foot.

The view from your bedroom, from the lounge area and from the dining deck is the pure African wilderness of the South Luangwa. Beyond the bend in the Luangwa River is a series of flats with a permanent procession of antelope and plains game; in the foreground is a swampy waterhole frequented by elephant, buffalo, warthog and the occasional lion or leopard comes along to stir things up in the evening.

The rooms at Nsefu are spacious, cool and comfortable the en suite bathrooms look out over the bush to the rear of the camp and large wooden balconies extend from the front door with a view of the river and waterhole.

Activities

Nsefu is open from January to March, when high water levels offer exciting boating safaris starting with a two-hour boat transfer up the river; and from May to November when the dry season serves up the classic African safari.
