Carmen Scott: Tour Consultant
“Wherever you go, go with all your heart” a mantra which Carmen lives by and speaks multitudes of who she is. Just like her choice for travel, Carmen is down to earth with no pretences, like most Namibians, and we love this about her.
Born in Windhoek, Carmen grew up in Swakopmund and has been based at the coast ever since. Which we totally get. What’s not to love about the rolling sand dunes that meet the sea of this coastal town?
After school Carmen was lured to Cape Town, where she studied for 2 years at the Academy of Health and Skincare, but her love for her home county saw her return and she then found herself reporting for 2 local newspapers. It was not long and Carmen ditched the glamour industry and headlines to sell our headlining act, Namibia, and the beauty of our neighbouring countries instead. We sure are glad she made the change and if she’s planning your holiday, you will be too.
Carmen is dedicated, quietly quirky and has a good sense of humour. She’s enthusiastic about travel and more so about making your dream holiday come true. She loves a challenge and planning tailor-made tours, each unique and custom made. Like a work of art, it’s easy to paint a canvas when the colours are so bright and varied.
She has many interests, loves cooking and scrap booking, but if you ask Carmen what she loves to do most, she’ll say being in touch with nature. Fishing or exploring the natural scenery, wherever she may be, she’s content and in her element.
Carmen’s favourite places in Namibia are Waterberg and the Naukluft Mountains and of course, the family farm overlooking the Auas Mountains, a place of fond memories and close to her heart.
Being family-orientated Carmen fits in well with the NTS team, which is more of a family really. With her expertise and being trilingual in English, Afrikaans and German, all we can say is Great Scott! Aren’t we lucky to have her?
