Wooed by a Namibian and then by Namibia, Tanya loves Namibia with the passion of a convert and she is a welcome addition to our dynamic and friendly team at NTS.
Tanya brings a touch of class to team Namibia Tours & Safaris. Not that the rest of us are uncouth or uncultured we just can’t boast of being an accomplished singer or a classically-trained dancer; nor can we claim any skill in show jumping, dressage or eventing; and, darn it, we certainly can’t claim to hold a degree in Hospitality & Catering or say we’ve worked at Rust en Vrede, one of the top-rated restaurants in South Africa.
Tanya is all that and more and very proud to have her on our side are we.
Born and bred in sunny KwaZulu-Natal, Tanya completed her schooling there and moved to Stellenbosch, wine and food country, to study a Bachelor of Consumer Science specialising in Food Preparation - oh yes, she cooks like a dream did we mention that?
Lucky for Namibia, lucky for us, Tanya’s true love and husband is a Swakopmund native and quite understandably this beautiful country has captured her free-spirited heart and, several years down the line, Namibia is now home.
"I love the lifestyle in Namibia. There's no place like it and I wouldn't want my daughter, Abigail, to grow up anywhere but here. It's magical"
Having travelled across the world from Orlando to Paris; Amsterdam to Cape Town and from one end of London to the other, Tanya has the travel-bug just like the rest of us. With her knowledge (having been a senior consultant) along with her deep passion for this beautiful region and her love for writing it's an easy task composing pages for the website. If you read it, chances are she wrote it. Now you just have to come and experience it to know what she's on about!
Best thing about Namibia? Sleeping under the stars in the middle of nowhere after an evening of campfire stories and laughs. "Memories made are special. Memories made in Namibia are priceless".
