Desert Breeze is a quirky apparition on the edge of the dry Swakop River overlooking the beautiful dunes of the Namib Desert on the outskirts of Swakopmund town.
Rooms are separate bungalows reached by wooden walkways and paths carved into the ancient desert. With angular roofs, circular recesses and splashes of unnatural colour against, your accommodation in Swakopmund will be striking to say the least.
And then there is the view. Protected from the cool Atlantic sea air, you'll be able to enjoy spectacular and quite likely unique views of rippling dunes and the never-ending Namibian sky.
Desert Breeze has 12 en-suite bungalows and one luxury villa. All the rooms have a fireplace and a private sun deck where you can relax and enjoy the space which stretches out as far as the eye can see - a rarity, especially when so close to the only town for miles around.
The lodge is bright and colourful and it is made up of a mixture of different levels and roof angles, which creates an eye-catching structural design. Interesting rock sculptures by Namibian artists act as guides between each bungalow, standing tall, proud and delightfully out of place in this land of sand.
Desert Breeze operates on bed and breakfast basis only, but the house staff are more than willing to assist in booking a table at one of the local restaurants, as well as organising activities in and around the area.
