With its diverse habitats, the Waterberg Plateau Park is used as a breeding reserve for Namibia's rare and endangered species including black and white rhino, buffalo, sable and roan antelope, Damara dik-dik, and the Cape vulture. These in addition to the 25 species of naturally occurring wildlife which includes giraffe, kudu, leopard and the magnificent black eagle.
Nature walks are the highlight of the Waterberg Plateau Park. Nine trails lead from the camp up and around the plateau and offer excellent views and a fascinating experience of the ever-changing habitats and their flora, fauna and avifauna. For the more experienced hikers there are longer guided and unguided trails of up to five days. All of the hikes have stone shelters at each stop but you will need to haul your own equipment.
